I went to Christopher for a second opinion. He put each of my diamond earrings under a microscope which was reflected onto his computer screen to show me that my diamonds were actually of very nice quality now appraising for $4000! He then took the time to place a diamond of much lesser quality under his microscope so I could actually see the difference between these diamonds. Christopher educated me on the fact that you never get even close to full value when you trade in jewelry. He asked If I had thought of using the diamonds from my earrings to create a new custom piece of jewelry. I thought that was a great idea! He suggested purchasing a new diamond of same size and quality as my pendant to create my new earrings. Christopher charged me $2100, which was $1700 less than the other local jeweler, and I also got to see my new diamond under magnification on the computer screen.
I was impressed by both the time and patience Christopher gave me. It is so refreshing in this day and age to have the opportunity to do business with such a fine, sincere and trustworthy young man as Christopher whom has so much integrity! We had a wonderful experience with Christopher. When we came to the store for the first time, he sat down with us and sketched out some designs on the spot. Ultimately we came up with a custom design based on his ideas, and the finished piece turned out flawless. Christopher executed the design perfectly and I am in loved with the finished piece! Working with Christopher to get a one-of-a-kind piece has been worth every penny (and, might I add, that it's not much pricier than purchasing a pre-made ring from a big, chain jeweler). I've been going to Christopher's for the past 4 years. Custom diamond earrings for my daughters 1 year birthday. Custom designed pendants, pearl and diamond. Most importantly I recently brought in my great grandmothers diamond and Christopher designed the perfect engagement ring using the stone. I was speechless, and my fiance was speechless. I went to Jewelry by Christopher to inquire about altering a pair of earrings of great sentimental value. I was greeted by Rachel, to whom I explained the problem. She introduced me to Brad who she said could help. After carefully considering the situation, he simply reduced the post circumferences and handed them back. Simple! I thought it would be a much more involved process. Then the most amazing part is there was not a charge. As a small business owner I am most appreciative of this type of service. What a gem of a store you are in Rockford, ha! Just as an aside, I was referred to Christopher's by my mother who had a ring redesigned and was thrilled with the result. Thank you!
I recently inherited a diamond pendant necklace and diamond earrings. The earrings were appraised in 2008 for $1500. I wanted to upgrade the earrings and thought if I traded in the earrings I could use that money to purchase a larger diamond and combine it with the diamond in the pendant and I could have upgraded earrings.
I took these items to a local jeweler who told me my diamond earrings were of very poor quality and that he would not be able to give me very much for them. This made me uncomfortable as I knew that to be untrue. He then told me that for $3800 he would sell me a new 0.70 ctw diamond that would match the diamond in my pendant and make my new earrings.
I had an heirloom diamond set in my wedding ring that was loose, brought it in and it was fixed within the day. Also Christopher took the time to speak to me personally and fix other issues that the chain jeweler does not address. Also having my ring back in one day, other than two weeks showed me that I was a valued costumer and my jewelry is treated with the upmost care and knowledge. I was so impressed with the service and will continue to work with Christopher's for my jewelry needs.
