I like shopping at Bergner's from time to time. The quality at this location, however, has definitely declined. I purchased shoes from the Machesney Park store and tried to exchange them after getting the wrong size. Machesney didn't have the right size so the store manager who was assisting me called CherryVale after the inventory read they had 4 correct sized pairs in stock. Not only did it take FOREVER for an associate to answer, they were extremely rude, and told us they couldn't hold a pair simply because it was yellow dot. There were 4 other pairs in stock, but they couldn't hold one?????? Also recently for their Goodwill sale, an associate kept telling customers they couldn't use the coupons on yellow dot items...even though they clearly allowed it at other registers and stores. I had another instance a couple years ago where my Hot Topic online order set off their security alarm. The woman who looked over my bag was pretty rude about it too.
This store generally has excellent customer service. There are exceptions, as with any store, but most staff are very kind and helpful. Only store in this mall I ever go to.
This store has nice merchandise but needs renovation some of the mirrors are broken and display cases and shelves are worn and chipped.
I always have a good experience when I shop at Bergners. They have a great return policy and always help me get the most out of my sales offers and coupons.
