So, the next time you're calling out to the Lord or feel the need to open the Bible and read it while at RMH as you or a loved one is in desperate need (even if it's for the first time in your life) I pray that a member of the Pastoral Care Department is available and can find a Bible for you.

(because I'am S.S.I.-pending) I have had each person that I have encountered be courteous, prompt, and very willing to explain my illnesses to me in full detail-without rushing out (as they are so busy all of the time). Surgeons around the city say RMH has the best OR in town. Notably, they're in the top 10% in the nation for spine surgery and pulmonary care. They really take pride in excellence, and it shows. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

The ER had a very clinic like feel to me, mostly because the rooms were booked and I had to wait over an hour, although I was extremely sick (having a very serious reaction to a medication). The staff attending the counters in the ER was less uncaring and apathetic, and since i'd been waiting for so long anyway and was getting worse by the minute, I asked to check myself out of the hospital after they had given me a registration bracelet. They freaked and immediately sent me to a room, and my problem was resolved in conjunction with fantastic doctors and amazing, caring nurses. Once you're actually in a room, you have their full and undivided attention.
As of April 13th, RMH's policy is now, "Effective immediately the Rockford Health System will no longer permit any group to place religious literature in patient rooms, common areas,waiting rooms. or nurses stations. Religious literature, including Bibles, will be made available to patients and staff upon request through Pastoral Care Department."
If you have ever stayed at or have been in Rockford Memorial Hospital or it's system of physicians, you could always find a Bible nearby in a drawer in your room, or openly available in a waiting area.
