My first choice when in the mood for pizza and the prices are good.
This is one of my favorite pizza places in the city. It is also the best gluten free pizza we have ever had! Great local pizza joint at a great price!
The pizza is great. I eat there food at least once or twice a week. I can't find a better Pizza in Rockford. I also love the garlic knots. Check out there menue they have good coupons on it that will save you a couple bucks. I also like the the idea they sell the "don" Pizza. It's perfect for football parties.
My biggest pet peeve with Italian Beef sandwiches is when the bread is too soggy and falls apart, finally, but Mamma Mia's doesn't disappoint, their Italian bread is thick, sturdy and fresh. Easily the best Italian Beef I've ever had.
Side note: While I was waiting for my food, I was lucky enough to meet the owner's mother who happens to work there and help out, she was a one of a kind person, very nice and caring.
As for the pizza, granted it didn't get eaten for about 25-30 minutes after I left the restaurant and met up with my friends, the chicken pieces were huge, and the bbq was so flavorful, made for an overall enjoyable pie.
Came to Rockford to visit a few friends that attend Rock Valley College, on my way through town I noticed this place, I thought to my self "While I'm in town I might as well try as much local food as I can."
Next time I visit Rockford, you can bet I will be stopping by again.
Walked in the door and I was greeted politely and with a smiling face by a teenage girl. She was helpful in offering suggestions and local favorites, I thought that I should bring a pizza with me, to share with my friends, I landed on the BBQ chicken pizza, not only did I get a good amount of pizza for the price, but I was able to watch the pizza chefs prepare it right in front of my face and put it in the pizza oven. I also decided to try the Italian Beef for myself, I ordered it with peppers and onions.
Great little Authentic Italian place. Locally owned and fresh as it gets. Our family ordered a pizza, wings and their famous Garlic Knots. Let me tell you those Garlic Knots are no joke! Will definitely be ordering again in the near future.
