I love Swedish American Hospital, but this is the department that makes you think twice about Swedish American hospital. I have used almost every service in Swedish American Hospital for my family and myself (doctors, diabetic clinic, ER, labs, X-Ray, surgery, heart monitoring, sleep center, allergy and the list goes on.) First, this department's billing is crazy. They send you a bill before they know what the final cost is. Even the insurance company thinks they are crazy. Then they bill you after the insurance pays. So you have no clue what you owe. Then they have the nerve to call you and tell you to pay your bill.
Secondly, the customer service stinks. They treat you like they are better than you and you need them. I know understand why their office is in the basement, because that is where they belong. I was told by one representative to be there by 4:00 p.m, though they close at 5:00 p.m. Just rude!
