We intended to call Christenson Funeral Home to discuss services but mistakenly called someplace else and made an appointment. When we arrived at Christenson, we discovered our mistake but Nathan at Christenson took care of us immediately and was very caring and professional. He listened to us and suggested things that would accommodate our needs well. He worked with us on costs and allowed us to have a service that was much better than we could have expected. Throughout the planning process, Nathan responded to our calls immediately and helped us with details even in the days after the services. He accommodated a large attendance at the service, with ease. The funeral home itself is well maintained and really very beautiful. I would highly recommend Christenson Funeral Home.
I am sure he was trained in college on how to deal with such situations. I expected to be dealing with a professional who would be trained and have experience being a sympathetic funeral director. In Loving Memory of my only Child Josh M Copus. Sincerely Maggie Copus
Having to use Christenson for 3 funerals in the past 2 years for my family's needs, I always recommend them to everyone. Nathan and his amazing staff are very caring and compassionate people, helping you figure out the little steps adding comfort and reassurance during a difficult time. The home is prefect for visitations of large groups or smaller more personal groups if needed.
The Christenson Funeral Home helped with the death of our mother. We dealt with Nathan from our first call to weeks following the service. Kind, compassionate and extremely helpful are just a few words to describe this young man. The attention to detail from the cards to the flowers, everything was handled with dignity respect and true professionalism. The facilities are beautiful and made us feel right at home. In a terrible time in our lives, Nathan really came through and guided us through the whole process with patience and caring. I would recommend this place to everyone - To Nathan and the staff - Thank You!
He ignored my request several times, and then he began distracting me as I am reading the legal document. I kept pressing an answer, so he wrote a note saying, "Maggie is requesting the pins, note to self, I will talk with other paying party." He said, “I can't promise anything.” He tried to talk me out of the pins by stating, "It will be damaged burned and blackened." He put them in the mail carelessly. No way to track it, no insurance, no careful wrapping, no security of it making it to my mailbox.
Handled my father's cremation with dignity and respect and they made the process easy on my family. Best price in the area for what we wanted to fulfill my father's final wishes. Under new management as of January 2012.
I personally was not treated with the compassion, sympathy, dignity or respect I felt I deserved as the Mother of a child who died. The employee I dealt with was Nate. He was indifferent, rude, careless and flat out unkind to me and my siblings. The father and I are divorced we didn’t get along he paid his 1/2 portion. When it came to me, I was treated as an inconvenience. I was being denied every last right I had by my son’s father. The coroner’s office mandated a legal document be signed by both parents b/f my son would be released to the funeral home. Our situation was unique obviously for me to need to sign a legal document, which enforced my maternal rights. I paid half of the costs, allowing my name in the obit, to attend the celebration of life and the right to see my son at the Morgue. When I came in Nate was all about getting the money. Three of us were standing there with credit cards in hand to pay our share. We had questions b/c I had never had a child die before, but money was the sole focus. He kept using distraction to avoid his discomfort with divorced families. I felt the money was more important than being neutral and professional to all parties involved. Agreement stated I was to have half of the ashes, if I paid my half. I declined that privilege and instead asked for the metal pins which were in my son's arm.
